Design Features Of MySpace
Both advanced users and beginners can take advantage of the user friendliness of MySpace alike. For persons with little or no knowledge of HTML code, MySpace provides certain standard features which the user can pick and choose. Those who know HTML very well can incorporate their own design ideas into a MySpace website as it provides for adding HTML code while creating or modifying the profile. This article discusses certain basic design features of MySpace like changing background, adding songs, importing images and posting quizzes for others.
Adding / modifying the background
Background color is an important component of a website as it is the first thing that a visitor sees in a website. If it is gaudy the content cannot be easily deciphered while if it is pleasing to the eyes it will attract the visitor into going through the entire content.
Adding color or graphics to the background requires some basic knowledge of HTML. One must go to ‘Edit profile’ of the homepage after logging in where the relevant code can be inserted. The code should be included in the ‘About me’ part of the account for the background color or graphics to appear in the profile. For those not knowing HTML, they can learn it from the exhaustive information available on the internet itself.
Importing images
Pictures of the members can be posted on their MySpace website which is preferred by many people. They give a personal touch when interacting with other members. Photos can be uploaded to the website while first creating the account or added later on. They can be of .jpg or .gif type of files and must be less than 600Kb in size. The file name should alphanumeric only.
Adding background music to MySpace websites
Adding music to the website gives another dimension of revealing one’s personality. Some prefer to add songs they like and some musicians like to publicize their creations through their websites. It is a simple task to add music to a MySpace website. Songs of other MySpace artistes can be chosen from a special page. The Add button will appear next to songs that have been permitted by the member to be copied by others. Clicking on the Add button after logging in will add the song as background music for the website. Only one song can be added to a website but it can be replaced any time by adding another song.
Posting quiz to MySpace websites
Personality quizzes that reveal information about members’ personality can be posted on MySpace websites. A link to the quiz allows other members to take the quiz and input the results on the comments page of the website. Many sites on the internet provide personality quizzes along with code which can be added to the MySpace website in the ‘Interests’ section of MySpace profile.
