MySpace provides a platform to create online communities who have common interests that they would like share to among themselves. It provides necessary tools to create websites for its members that can filled with details about the members like hobbies and so on. How to open a MySpace account

It is simple task to open a MySpace account. One has to provide basic information like name, valid email address and a password with alphanumeric characters to become a member of MySpace. The terms of service of MySpace have to be agreed to by the members. After filling out the form with the above details, MySpace sends an email to confirm membership. A link in the email leads to the member’s account and the account gets activated by entering email address and the password.

Terms of Service of MySpace

The terms of service (TOS) are the basic rules that every member must follow. It should be understood thoroughly by prospective members as violation of any of the terms may lead to cancellation of membership as well as legal action. The following discusses the highlights of TOS.

* Members must be 14 years or more old at the time of becoming member and their age must be accurate

* No copyrighted material must be published on the website without prior permission from copyright holders.

* Members are required to keep their passwords secret and any suspected use of the same must be reported to MySpace

* MySpace should not be used for commercial purposes without obtaining permission in advance

* The content of the website should adhere to TOS

Creating MySpace website

Designing and creating a member’s website is an interesting part of MySpace and it does not require high programming knowledge to do so. Knowing simple HTML code and a few ideas about the website’s appearance would suffice. MySpace provides a large amount of tools to create websites and the following lists some of its features.

* Editing of profile

* Account settings

* Adding/Editing pictures

* Adding/Changing videos

* Managing calendar

* Managing blogs

* Managing address book

The editing profile feature gives most of the options of adding content to the user’s site. It has subcategories like name, basic information, interests / hobbies, school, companies, background / lifestyle, networking and choice of background music. It has also has text boxes for adding text and any HTML code for changing the appearance of the website. A preview of the website / its sections is also permitted while editing the profile. Regarding background and lifestyle, MySpace makes it easy for the user to input the information through series of questions, pull down menus and radio buttons. All these information is integrated by MySpace into the final website.
